Open Mic Night!! - Special Guest Host - ANDY DOONAN



Andy Doonan is a Guiseley singer-songwriter who won his way to the national final of Live and Unsigned in 2011 and thus appeared at the O2 Arena in London.
Andy has played a number of high profile gigs both as a solo artiste and with his backing band The Lightwalks. He has a regular bookings at The Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester and the Suburban Bar in Baildon and regularly provides support for nationally known bands at The Duchess in York, most recently for Toploader. Only last weekend he supported nationally known band The Staves at The Brudenell in Leeds as part of their UK Tour and in March supported Guiseley's internationally-klnown singing star peter Grant on the Leeds leg of his UK tour..
Andy is soon to make his third appearance at the Station Guiseley Music Festival (May 6th) with his band The Lightwalks, and they have travelled all over the UK to headline famous venues such as The Cavern Club in Liverpool and have played at renowned venues such as The Bedford in London, Manchester Academy, The Scarborough Open Air Theatre, The Library in Leeds and The Duchess in York.In 2011 Andy released his debut album ‘Lights and Mirrors’ recorded with The Pigeon Detectives producer Andy Hawkins.
After supporting chart-topping acts such as The HoosiersToploader and The Twang along with Peter Grant, Jon Allen and Brian Houston, as well as having festival slots with The Levellers and The Charlatans, Andy is starting to make serious waves on the gig scene.
He played in many bands from an early age, including Crimson Daydream, who won several band competitions and supported bands such as Elliot Minor, Hijack Oscar, One Night OnlyAfter the FireDave Mcpherson (INME), The Humour, The Little Comets, The Dunwell Brothers Band, and The Gay Blades. Crimson Daydream also headlined at renowned music venue The Cockpit on several occasions, playing to near sell-out audiences.
In May he returns to his old university York St John to appear at the Summer Ball and has a string of top line gigs lined up including a return to London's The Bedford and a first ever gig at The Regal Rooms in London - both run by London music legend Tony Moore.
An accomplished singer, guitarist, and pianist, the 23 year-old’s exciting original songs and powerful voice are starting to turn heads, appealing to a wide audience
